Symposium: August 18-19, 2026
Optional Pre-Conference Hands-On Lyophilization Short Course: August 17-18, 2026

The Pikal Symposium is a biennial symposium, first held in 2024, to honor the late Dr. Michael Pikal, an esteemed scientist who contributed greatly to the advancement of pharmaceutical formulation and manufacturing.
Leading researchers, from both academia and industry, will gather for 1 ½ days to share their most cutting-edge research. This year’s symposium is focused on stability of complex therapeutics in the frozen and dried states, and will of course have one session devoted to freeze-drying. Three panel discussions will provide spirited discussions of current topics.

Contributed posters are welcome at the symposium. Provide the title of your poster when you register. No abstract is required.

Optional Pre-Symposium

There is an optional pre-symposium 1 ½ day hands-on short course on freeze-drying including lecture and lab time for freeze-drying microscopy, setting up a batch, and evaluation of other batches.
